Micha Duran charged with the murder of Mustafa Khaleel in Wasaga Beach

Huronia West OPP, County of Simcoe Paramedic Services and Wasaga Beach Fire Department, responded to Beach Area 1 on Beach Drive on June 13th at approximately 12:39am.

On arrival emergency crews located Mustafa Khaleel, 23, of Mississauga, suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, Khaleel was pronounced at the scene.

An autopsy was completed and revealed the cause of death to be a stab wound and the manner of death a homicide.

OPP arrested a 21-year-old man from Etobicoke and a 25-year-old man from Brampton near the scene and both charged with second-degree murder. Their names are being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Update:
OPP have charged Micha Duran, 25, from Brampton with second-degree murder in connection with the murder of Khaleel.

Police dropped the second-degree murder charges that were previously laid against a different 25-year-old Brampton man and a 21-year-old Etobicoke man. They have now been charged with assault with a weapon.
