Edmonton police lay a manslaughter charge in relation to the homicide of Roderick Chonkolay

Edmonton police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the area of 69 Avenue and 173 Street on June 3rd at approximately 4:00am.

Police arrived to find Roderick Chonkolay, 30, suffering from serious injuries. Chonkolay was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on June 6th. An autopsy was completed on June 10, and revealed the cause of death to be a stab wound.

Russell Adams, 20, was arrested on scene, and was originally charged with aggravated assault. Adam’s charges have been upgraded to manslaughter.
