Devon was last seen on February 24, 2022, in the Spryfield area of Halifax, and reported missing to police on March 4, 2022. Police deemed Devon’s disappearance suspicious in late June 2022.
Halifax police announced on September 17th, 2024 that human remains have been found and are now with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service for identification.
On September 16th 2024 investigators arrested 26-year-old Treyton Alexander Marsman and a 20-year-old man who was a youth at the time of the murder. Treyton Marsman is charged with Second Degree Murder, Indignity to Human Remains and Obstructing Justice. The 20-year-old man is charged with Accessory After the Fact to Murder and Obstructing Justice.
Update: On September 25th at approximately 10:15 a.m., HRP/RCMP Integrated Major Crime Unit arrested 23-year-old Emma Maria Meta Casey in Dartmouth. Police said Casey is charged with:
- Accessory after the fact to murder
- Indignity to human remains
- Obstructing justice
Emma Casey will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges.
Chelsey Herritt, 26, has been charged with:
- Indignity to human remains
- Accessory after the fact to murder
The human remains that are believed to be Devon Sinclair Marsman’s continue to be with the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service for identification. Further updates will be shared when that work is complete.
On Thursday, March 6, 2025, at approximately 7:35 a.m., 40-year-old Mark Douglas Robert Doyle was arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder.
