Pierceland RCMP received a report that someone had been seriously injured at a residence on Big Island Lake Cree Territory on September 12, 2024 at approximately 2:45 p.m.

On arrival police located a deceased adult female at the residence. Saskatchewan RCMP are working to identify her.

As a result of continued investigation, 26-year-old Marchant Kiseyinewakup from Big Island Lake Cree Territory was charged with one count, second-degree murder, Section 235(1), Criminal Code.
