Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List

Quebec City police are investigating the death of an individual found unresponsive inside a residence in the Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighborhood.

At approximately 11 a.m. today, investigators with the Urban Violence Unit, assisted by the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI), went to the residence as part of an ongoing investigation. Officers discovered Gabriel-Simon Akokane, 21, unresponsive inside the home, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation has been taken over by detectives from the Crimes Against the Person Unit. Forensic identification specialists are also examining the residence and collecting evidence as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

A mobile command post will be established at the scene as the investigation continues.

Police are asking anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward. Anyone requiring immediate police assistance should call 911.
