Toronto police responded to a call for a shooting in the Gilder Drive and Eglinton Avenue East area on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at approximately 3:43 p.m.
On arrival police located 17-year-old Zaybion Lawrence of Toronto suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

On Tuesday, October 4, 2022, a 16-year-old boy was located and arrested. He has since been charged with:
- First Degree Murder
