James Richard AIKENS Identified as the victim of a homicide in Whitehorse

Whitehorse RCMP responded to a report of a deceased male on a rural property north of Whitehorse on August 27, 2022, at around 9:00 pm. An autopsy was performed and RCMP revealed on September 23rd that the victim has been identified as 41-year-old James Richard AIKENS (Rick), from British Columbia.

While his cause of death has not been released, investigators said his death is a homicide.

At this time it is also suspected that the homicide investigation is related to the missing persons investigation of Chad Oliver McGill reported on August 30, 2022. Chad McGill remains missing after his vehicle was found abandoned in Yukon on Aug. 26, 2022.
