Update: Thunder Bay police investigate the homicide of a woman

Thunder Bay police responded to a home in the 300 block of Dawson Street following reports of a serious assault just before 2:00pm on June 19th.

Police and paramedics arrived and located a female who appeared to be the victim of a recent assault, suffering from serious injuries. Despite life saving efforts, the victim was pronounced at the scene.

A 21-year-old woman has been arrested, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20th to face charged.

Update June 20th
Lyrina Jacob, 21, of Thunder Bay, is charged with Second-Degree Murder. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Update June 24th
Thunder Bay police have identified the victim as Lydia Rose Jacob, 47. Police said the two were known to each other, however have not released their relationship.
