At around 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, OPP responded to a call at a home on Richmond Street West, where a deceased individual was found.

Following their investigation, police arrested 21-year-old Samuel Connors of Woodville. He has been charged with second-degree murder under section 231 of the Criminal Code. Connors is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on Friday, August 22, 2025.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim.

The investigation is being led by the City of Kawartha Lakes Crime Unit, under the supervision of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch, and is being conducted in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. The OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team is also assisting.
