Sylvain Kabbouchi, Alleged Arab Power Gang Leader, Dies in Donnacona Institution After Inmate Assault

On July 20, 2025, Sylvain Kabbouchi, a 26-year-old inmate and alleged leader of the Arab Power street gang, died while in custody at Donnacona Institution following an altercation with another inmate. Kabbouchi was serving a life sentence for his role in the 2021 murder of Nitchell Lapaix, with his incarceration beginning on April 14, 2025.
