Chaleur Region RCMP were notified of a sudden death at a residence in Lorne New Brusnwick at approximately 9:06 a.m. on December 11, 2025.

The deceased has been identified as 41-year-old Elliot Mallaley, a resident of Lorne.

Following an examination of the scene, investigators determined that the circumstances surrounding the man’s death were suspicious. As a result, the New Brunswick RCMP Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation, deploying specialized teams including Forensic Identification Services and the Northeast District Community Crime Reduction Unit.

Police are asking residents in the area to come forward if they noticed any unusual or suspicious activity, or if they have dash cam or surveillance footage from the area between 11:00 a.m. on December 10 and 9:00 a.m. on December 11.
