On May 1, 2024, Sault Ste Marie police detectives began investigating two sudden deaths at a residence in the 0-100 block of Boundary Road.

Upon arrival, officers located two people, a husband and wife deceased. Police have not released the identities of the deceased.

The wife was located inside the residence and the husband was located outside the residence in a vehicle.

An investigation determined that this incident was a murder-suicide wherein the female was fatally strangled by her husband, who then died by self-strangulation. This appears to have been an act of intimate partner violence. It is an isolated incident.
