Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List

Quebec provincial police are investigating a suspected homicide in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, where authorities are also looking into the disappearance of a local man.

According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), police were notified Thursday about the disappearance of Mario Poirier, a resident of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts in the Laurentians.

Later that evening, officers discovered the body of a man inside a residence on Godon Street in the community. Police say the circumstances surrounding the death point to a possible homicide.

The identity of the deceased has not yet been officially confirmed. An autopsy is scheduled for early next week to help establish the exact cause and circumstances of death.

Investigators are continuing to work on both the missing-person and homicide investigations and are appealing to anyone who may have relevant information to come forward.
