Update: Two men charged – Saskatoon police investigate the city’s 3rd homicide

Saskatoon police responded to an injured person in a home on the 200 block of Avenue I South on February 17th at approximately 12:25 am.

Police arrived to find a 48-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was transported to hospital for treatment, however succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Police are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time.

Investigators said the 48-year-old male victim and suspect are known to each other. Investigators have not released the name of the suspect.

Update On April 3, 2024, members of the RCMP’s Saskatoon Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) arrested a 37-year-old man in North Battleford after he was wanted on warrants for breach of probation. Following his arrest, members of the Saskatoon Police Service’s Major Crime Section further charged him with the first-degree murder. A second man, age 34, was also arrested by the SPS on April 4, 2024 and has also been charged with first-degree murder.
