Halifax Regional Police responded to a call of suspicious circumstances at a residence in the 6300 block of Willow Street on October 23rd at approximately 7:30 am.
Police arrived at the scene to find Linda Lamontagne, 65, deceased in the back yard of the residence. Police said the victim’s son Ryan Lamontagne, 26, was also in the backyard and was taken into custody. It is alleged that Ryan was attempting to bury the body of his mother.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and has ruled the death a homicide, however, the cause of death has not been released.
Lamontagne has been charged with second-degree murder and indignity to human remains. Anyone with information about this incident to call police at 902-490-5020.
