At 4:28 a.m. on March 30, 2025, officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS), working in 1 District (St. Catharines / Thorold), responded to a report of a stabbing on Niagara Street, located between Church Street and Welland Avenue, in St. Catharines.
On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, the victim of this incident, 56-year-old Victor Clayton, passed away from his injuries in the hospital.
Following his death, the Niagara Regional Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation.
Rohan Chandler, a 30-year-old man with no fixed address, is now wanted in connection with the following charges:
Fail to Comply with Probation
Second Degree Murder
Update: On Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at approximately 9:15am, Rohan CHANDLER, 30, was arrested in the area of Aylmer and Simcoe Streets in Peterborough Ontario. He has been charged with:
- Second Degree Murder
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
CHANDLER is being held in custody and transported back to the Niagara Region. He is scheduled to attend a bail hearing on Tuesday April 8, 2025, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
