The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Operational Patrol Services, the Criminal Investigation Division, and Forensic Identification Services, responded to the area of Liam Drive where a woman was found deceased inside an abandoned home on March 5th.

The victim has been identified as Nariman Abdul Alghafour.

Police said the victim was last seen in the area of Middleton Street in St. John’s. Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses from this area who may have seen anything suspicious between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. yesterday (March 5).

Police are also seeking any video footage (CCTV, dash cameras, doorbell cameras) during the same time period, involving a blue, four-door, Hyundai Elantra that travelled from the east end of St. John’s between Middleton Street, and Liam Drive in Outer Cove where the woman was found deceased.

Update: According to CBC the victim’s husband, Ibrahim Alahmad, 36, went to an automotive shop located next door to the abandoned house, covered in blood, and with wounds to his neck and wrist.

The RNC arrested and charged Alahmad and he will appear in Provincial Court to face charges of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and breaches of court orders.
