Update: Charges Laid – RCMP investigate a double homicide in Crofton BC

North Cowichan Duncan RCMP resaponded to suspicious circumstances at a house in the 8600 block of Crofton Road on October 23rd at approximately 12:00am.

Police arrived at the scene to find two deceased persons in the residence, with another man who was quickly arrested without incident. The man who was arrested was transported to the North Cowichan / Duncan RCMP detachment, where he remains in police custody. Due to the privacy of the deceased’s, under the Coroners Act, their names will not be released.

Police said while the investigation is in the preliminary stages, police believe this was an isolated incident and there is no on-going risk to the general public.

According to 100milefreepress.net the victims have been identified as son and father, Brad Johnson, 35, and Tom Johnson, 57.

Update October 26th
Justin James Dodd, 33, of Duncan, was arrested and charged with two counts of second degree murder. Duncan is expected to appear in court on November 2, 2021.
