Update: Victim identified as  Frank James – Surrey Homicide 14 – Police say the homicide of a 47-year-old man in Surrey does not appear to have ties to the Lower Mainland gang conflict.

Surrey police were called to a home in the 18800 block of 76 Avenue on August 24th at approximately 11:15pm.

On arrival police located a 47-year-old man in medical distress. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim died of his injuries.

 “Officers have been working throughout the night to locate witnesses who could help shed light on this situation. At this time the motive is unknown, but it (is) believed there are no ties to the Lower Mainland gang conflict,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT.

Update: IHIT has released the name of the victim in hopes of furthering its investigation. The victim has been identified as 47-year-old Frank James of Surrey.
