Update: Suspect dies, no charges will be laid – Prince Albert police investigate the death of an 85-year-old woman following an assault at a Saskatchewan care home

Prince Albert police said an assault took place involving two residents at a care home in the 700 Block of 28th St. East in Prince Albert on August 14th.

The victim, an 85-year-old woman was transported by Parkland Ambulance to the Victoria Hospital where she died of her injuries on August 19th. Police said her death was the result of injuries received during the assault five days prior.

Investigators have identified a 76-year-old woman as a suspect, however no arrests have been made while the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division continues to investigate.

Prince Albert police have announced that no charges will be laid in connection to the homicide of an 85-year-old woman. Investigators identified a suspect at the onset of the investigation, who has since passed away. The suspect in this file was never arrested and there are no other suspects.
