Emergency crews were called to the 600 block of Taradale Drive N.E at around 9pm on August 31 2015 on report of an injured infant.

Three month old Cyrus Nel was found in medical distress and was transported to hospital where he died a day later.

Update: April 24th, 2017

After a lengthy investigation, homicide investigators believe the fatal injuries inflicted on Cyrus Nel happened in the family home.

Police said that they have spoken to the suspects, however no explanation has been given regarding Nel’s injuries.

Daniel Nel, 31, a pastor at Rockyview Alliance Church has been charged with the second degree murder of his son Cyrus.
