Arrest Made – Calgary Homicide #6 victim identified – Calgary police investigating a break-and-enter that ended in a suspicious death

Calgary police were called to the 3800 block of Bow Trail S.W on March 14th at approximately 6:15am after a man was found in medical distress. 

Police and paramedic arrived to find the injured man who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. It has been reported that the victim had responded to a break-and-enter alarm at his business at around 3:00 am He waited in the parking lot until around 6:00 am for the business to be secured when he was approached by at least three suspects.

Police said ” It is believed the three suspects were attempting to gain access into an adjoining cannabis store through the victim’s business in the 3800 block of Bow Trail S.W. “

The victim sustained fatal injuries and managed to walk to another business where Emergency crews were called.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact authorities at 403-266-1234.

Update March 16th
Calgary police said an autopsy conducted by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, revealed the identity of the victim to be 56-year-old Christophe Herblin of Calgary.

Update June 4th, 2020
Calgary police arrested an individual on June 3rd in relation to the homicide of Christophe Herblin. Police stated they can’t release the identity of the suspect until he is charged.

Update June 24th
Tommie Boris Holloway, 31, of Calgary, was arrested on Saturday, June 20, 2020, and has also been charged with second-degree murder. Police are not seeking any additional suspects in the case.

Calgary Homicide #3 – Timothy Jones in custody in relation to the city’s latest homicide of Karson Goodeagle.

Calgary police were called to the area of 11 Avenue and 1 Street S.E., for reports of a man in medical distress on January 5th at approximately 4:50am .

Emergency crews located Karson Goodeagle,33, who was transported to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Police said Goodeagle died as a result of a stabbing.

As a result of the investigation, on January 6th, Calgary police arrested three men believed to be responsible for the attack. Dwayne Iyn Turner, 52, Tyrell Noskiye, 29, and Yahye Gabad, 23, are all charged with second-degree murder.  A fourth person of interest remains outstanding.

Police are asking for public assistance to locate Timothy Jones, 39. Jones is described as approximately 6’2″ tall and 205 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police non-emergency number 403-266-1234. 

Update January 9th
Timothy Ashton Jones, 39, was found in Calgary, on January 8th, and has been charged with second-degree murder.

Update Charges Laid – Calgary police investigate the city’s first homicide of 2020

Calgary police said an altercation broke out at the Alpha House, 203 15 Ave. S.E., at approximately 6:50 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019. It has been reported that Alpha House staff alerted police about the assault, but canceled the call shortly after at the request of the victim.

Alpha House staff found the victim in medical distress on January 1st, and contacted emergency services. The man was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. An autopsy was performed and revealed the man had died as a result of injuries sustained during an assault.

The victim has been identified as Barry Cecil Currie, 30.

Update January 23
Dwayne Bearspaw, 27, was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2020, and subsequently charged with manslaughter.

Calgary police investigating the fatal shooting of Farah Hersi Handule, who was wanted by Ottawa police for the 2017 homicide of Hamzeh Serhan

Calgary police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 16 Avenue and Home Road N.W. on December 26th at approximately 9:00pm.

Police arrived to find Farah Hersi Handule, 23, of Ontario deceased. Handule has been wanted since 2017 for the murder of Hamzeh Serhan in Ottawa.

Handule is also known as 22 Neat in the Toronto Hip-Hop community.

Staff Sergeant Colin Chisholm of the Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit said in a press release “This is a targeted homicide carried out in a brazen way that leaves us very concerned for public safety. This easily could have resulted in a tragic outcome for innocent citizens who were in the area”

Vincent Fong charged with the murder of his father in Calgary’s first homicide of 2019

Calgary police were called to a home in the 200 block of Edgepark Way N.W., on reports of a suspicious death on January 9th at 2:15pm.

Police arrived to find a Deceased male victim, and police said the homicide was domestic in nature, and there is no threat to the community.

Police arrested Vincent Fong at the scene, and he has been charged with second degree murder.

Woman found dead at the Red Carpet Inn Calgary, charges laid

Calgary police were called to the Red Carpet Inn, located at 4635 16 Ave. N.W, on December 21st at approximately 7:10am on reports of a suspicious death.

Police arrived to find a woman deceased in a room. The victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released at this time.

Clifton Spotted Eagle was arrested shortly after the discovery of the body and charged with second degree murder.

Calgary Homicide #16 – Roy Chi Yan Mac gunned down in his driveway

Calgary police responded to the 100 block of Panamount Villas N.W., for reports of a shooting, on December 17th at approximately 10:45pm.

Emergency crews arrived to find Roy Chi Yan Mac, 38, in critical, life-threatening condition. Mac was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries early December 18th.

Police believe the attack was targeted and ask anyone who may have vehicle dash cam or residential CCTV surveillance footage from the area who have not yet spoken with police are asked to contact the police non-emergency number 403-266-1234

Cordelius Terry Jackson Harrison wanted for the murder of Calgary’s latest homicide victim Rofas Ibrahim Sheikeldin

Calgary police were called to Paranoia nightclub located at 118 5 Avenue S.E. on November 25th, at approximately 2:50 am on report of an altercation.

Police believe that more than 20 people were involved in the altercation that left a man in his 30s in life-threatening condition. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. 

Police will not be releasing the identity of the victim or cause of death at this time.

Cordelius Terry Jackson Harrison 29, is wanted for second degree murder. He is described as approximately 5’9” tall, 190 pounds and most often has black, shoulder-length braided hair.

Update November 28th
Cordelius Terry Jackson Harrison, surrendered to Calgary police on Tuesday, November 27th. Harrison is facing a charge of second-degree murder in relation to the death of Rofas Ibrahim Sheikeldin, 37.

Update, Victim Identified – Calgary police investigation a fatal shooting in Penbrooke Meadows

Calgary  police responded to a residence in the 200 block of Pensville Close South East on October 24th at approximately 6:30am on report of a shooting.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and located the male victim. He was declared deceased at the scene. No other information is available at this time.

Calgary man dies of a gunshot wound in the city’s latest homicide

Calgary police responded to report of a shooting at a home in the 100 block of Signal Hill Circle S.W., on October 12th at approximately 11:00pm.

Police arrived to find one man deceased at the scene, and another injured man. The second victim’s condition has been upgraded to stable.

No arrests have been made at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

Update, Calgary police have identified the deceased as Mohsen Al Nemesh, 22.
