Update: Ottawa arrest a 16-year-old, and charge him with murder in connection to the shooting death of Sahur Yare

Ottawa police responded to the Ottawa Hospital General Campus on the report of an unresponsive woman who arrived with gunshot injuries.

Police said Sahur Yare, 20, succumbed to her injuries at about 7:45 p.m on February 21st. The vehicle that brought her to hospital left the scene but was located by officers nearby.

No arrests have been made and police ask anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.

Update March 2nd
Ottawa police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle of interest as part of its ongoing investigation into the murder of Sahur Yare. The vehicle is decribed as, a grey coloured four-door sedan, was captured on surveillance video in the area of St. Laurent Boulevard, Walkley Road and Conroy Road around 5:45 pm on the day of the homicide.

Police belive Yare was killed shortly after, in the area of Johnston Road and Pennard Way.

Update March 30th: The Ottawa Police Homicide Unit has obtained a Canada Wide arrest warrant for a 16 years old, of Ottawa , who is wanted for first-degree murder. He is described as a male with light brown skin, 5’9” (175cm), 130lbs (59kg) thin build, with collar length dark curly hair.

Ottawa police announced on August 5th that the 16-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the February 21st shooting death of 20-year-old Sahur Yare.
