Ontario Provincial Police were called to the report of a deceased person southeast of Brantford in Brant County on November 24 at roughly 1:30 p.m.
The victim has been identified as Gordon Oughtred, 82, and an autopsy revealed his death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.

Update August 2024:
Gordon Oughtred’s widow, Elfgard Oughtred, 79, known as Elfi, was arrested and charged by Brant OPP with second-degree murder. OPP said the charge was laid July 9th, however, they did not make the public aware until August 15th.
According to court documents obtained by The Brantford Expositor, Elfgard Oughtred no longer lives on the farm but at a Brantford facility for seniors.

Elfgard Oughtred, 81, has been found guilty of second-degree murder in death of her husband, Gordon Oughtred.
