Dawson Creek RCMP responded to reports of gunfire on 102nd Avenue at around 11:00 PM on January 19, 2025. Upon arrival, police found one adult man dead at the scene.

While officers were investigating the initial incident, a second shooting was reported at a nearby hotel. A male victim was located at the hotel with non-life-threatening injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment.

Authorities have identified several persons of interest in connection with both incidents. The BC RCMP North District Major Crime Unit (NDMCU) is now leading the investigation. As of now, no charges have been laid, and the investigation remains ongoing.
