The 2025 Quebec Homicide Victim List is available here

Montreal police officers responded to a check on welfare at a home on Turley Street on January 23rd at approximately 11:35 a.m.

On arrival police located 42-year-old Lisa Marie Rytar deceased with signs of violence on her body. According to City News court documents show that the homicide would have happened on or about Jan. 21st.

The victim’s son Tyrell Rytar, 21, was taken in for questioning. He was charged with second-degree murder on January 24th.

This is Montreal’s first homicide of 2025.
