The 2025 Alberta Homicide Victim List is available here

On the evening of August 15, around 5:30 p.m., RCMP in Faust responded to a report of a weapons incident on Eva Road in Driftpile First Nation, according to a police statement.

Officers, joined by members of the Lakeshore Regional Police Service, arrived at the scene to find a man deceased. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has since taken over the case, and the death is now being investigated as a homicide.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, August 18th, in Edmonton to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
