Nanaimo RCMP responded to a call for a disturbance on June 20th at around 10:00 p.m.

On arrival police located Denise Allick, 40, deceased, and a male suspect was taken into custody. Police have not laid charges, but said they do not believe there is any further risk to the public.

Simon Baker, 21, of Nanaimo has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to the homicide of Victoria woman Denise Allick.
