Leaf Rapids RCMP received a report of a deceased female located on the outskirts of the community of Lynn Lake on February 1, 2024, at approximately 8:10 am.

Officers attended and located a 40-year-old female who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim’s identity and cause of death has not been revealed, however, police say her death was a homicide.

On February 3, 2024, Kara Francois, 35, of Lynn Lake, was charged with Manslaughter and remanded into custody.
