Update: Timothy Vansnick charged – Homicide investigators are looking into the death of a 35-year-old man who was fatally stabbed outside the John B. Neighborhood Pub in Coquitlam, B.C.

Police responded to an altercation at John B. Neighbourhood Pub on January 31st at approximately 9:45 p.m.

On arrival, police located a 35-year-old man suffering life-threatening injuries. Despite efforts from first responders, he died at the scene. The victim’s identity is not being released out of respect to his family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

Update: On February 1, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service approved one count of second-degree murder against 32-year-old Timothy Vansnick. He is under a provincial court detention order and his next court appearance is on March 3, 2025.

The other man who was arrested has been released without charges at this time. The investigation continues and there is no ongoing risk to the public.
