The 2023 Halifax homicide victim list is available here

Halifax police responded to a report of a disturbance on the Halifax waterfront in the area of the 1500 block of Lower Water Street on August 6th at approximately 9:40 p.m.

On arrival police and paramedics located an unresponsive man on the boardwalk. The victim, 26-year-old Davelle Rodney Vance Desmond, was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. His cause of death has not been released, however, police said his death has been deemed a homicide.

A gofundme campaign has been created to help his girlfriend and unborn son.

Members from the Special Investigations Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division continue to investigate the case and are asking anyone with information about the incident or video from the area, who has not already spoken with police, to call 902-490-5020.
