The 2023 Ontario Homicide Victim List is available here

OPP responded to a wellness check on Kirkpatrick Street in Kirkland Lake on August 8th at a home on Kirkpatrick Street in Kirkland Lake.

On arrival police located a man and Lea Thompson, 33, deceased. Their deaths have been deemed a double homicide.

Police have not released any further details at this time. but said they are looking to see if the most recent homicides are linked to the July 30th deaths of Amanda Lachapelle, 37, and Gabriel Marecki, 49.

Ontario Provincial Police say they’ve connected two double homicides to one person, Martyn (Marty) Rosko, 38, of Kirkland Lake.

“The suspect has since died and cannot be charged criminally. Had the suspect been alive, compelling grounds exist to charge and prosecute him with murder charges for the four victims,” said Acting Staff Sergeant Rob Simpson.
