Alberta RCMP investigate the homicide of Nathan Loonskin in Carcajou

On March 16, 2025, at 2:25 p.m., Manning RCMP responded to a report of a deceased individual found in a vehicle on Range Road 224, near Carcajou, Alberta.

The deceased was identified as 38-year-old Nathan Loonskin from Paddle Prairie, Alta. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation, which has been classified as a homicide. The body has been sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Edmonton. Although the investigation is still in the early stages, RCMP believe the incident is isolated and there is no ongoing public risk.

RCMP is asking for public assistance, particularly anyone with dash cam footage or information about suspicious activity along Highway 35 between Manning and Paddle Prairie, from March 15, 2025, around 8:00 p.m. to March 16, 2025, around 2:00 p.m. Additionally, anyone with knowledge of Nathan Loonskin’s whereabouts before his death is urged to come forward.
