Halifax police responded to a report of gunshots on Ancona Place in Dartmouth, where they found 37-year-old Cortrell Thomas shot outside a residence on Monday, March 31, around 9:00 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner confirmed his death was a homicide. Authorities believe the shooting was not random and are searching for two suspects seen leaving the area through PO2 Craig Blake Memorial Park.

Police are requesting video footage from nearby locations, including Capistrano Drive, Appian Way and Casavechia Court. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 902-490-5020.
