The 2025 Saskatchewan Homicide Victim List is available here

On March 26, 2025, at around 2 a.m., Spiritwood RCMP responded to a report of an injured person on a pathway in Pelican Lake First Nation.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male who was declared deceased at the scene by EMS. The victim was identified as 29-year-old Kirk Thomas from Pelican Lake First Nation.

Given the suspicious nature of the circumstances, Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation. Later that day, 32-year-old Craig Thomas, also from Pelican Lake First Nation, was arrested at a residence and charged with manslaughter. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 27, 2025, in North Battleford.
