Edmonton police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 94 Street and 145 Avenue on April 2nd at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Police arrived to find 32-year-old Mohamed Abdi deceased in the driver’s seat of a black truck. Witnesses described seeing a white truck fleeing the area.
Police said a white truck was found on fire in the area of 106 Street and 155 Avenue.
An autopsy was conducted on Abdi on Thursday, Apr. 4, 2024. The cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound and manner of death is homicide.
Investigators have determined that the truck was stolen on Monday, Mar. 18, 2024, and remained outstanding until it was discovered burned on Apr. 2, 2024.
