Edmonton police officers responded to a residence in the area of 147 Avenue and 77 Street to investigate the report of a shooting on February 26, 2024, at approximately 5:30 p.m.

On arrival police located a 38-year-old male in medical distress and rendered first aid until EMS arrived on scene. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was declared deceased on scene.

Homicide detectives have since taken over the investigation. An autopsy has been scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.
