Edmonton police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of 117 Street and 107 Avenue on Christmas day at approximately 7:20 am.
Police and paramedics arrived to find 28-year-old Abdinasir Abdullahi Shire suffering from serious injuries outside of an apartment building. Despite lifesaving efforts by Paramedics, the victim died of his injuries.

Homicide detectives have identified Fahiye Ahmed, 38, as the accused in this shooting death and a province-wide warrant for second-degree murder has been issued for his arrest.
