Update: Edmonton Homicide #12 – 19 year old man dies in hospital after stabbing near LRT station

Edmonton Police were called to a transit stop at 118th Ave, near the Coliseum LRT Station in northwest Edmonton on April 11th in the afternoon on report of a stabbing.

Police arrived to find a 19 year old man with life-threatening injuries allegedly sustained during an altercation with a man.

The Victim was rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.  The victim died of his injuries on April 14th, and the Homicide team has taken over the case.

Update: Police have identified the victim as Brandon Provencher 19.

Update April 27th

Edmonton police have arrested two suspects, only one has been charged with the murder of Brandon Provencher.

Diodone Songa, 18, has been charged with second degree murder, robbery, attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon dangerous to the public. John Vyizigiro, 19, was charged with two counts of robbery, assault, assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
