Dor Thor Metkurjock Identified as Victim in Fatal Domestic Incident in Calgary; Suspect Charged with Second-Degree Murder

Calgary Police were called to a home in the 2300 block of Crestwood Road S.E. around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, following reports of a violent altercation.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s with critical, life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. By the time police reached the scene, those responsible had already fled. The victim has been identified as Dor Thor Metkurjock, 28.

As part of the ongoing investigation, authorities later carried out search warrants in the 0 to 100 block of Citadel Estates Terrace N.W. Their efforts led to charges against 22-year-old Wedial Buom Met, who is now facing one count of second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

The suspect, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for second-degree murder, was located in Langley B.C., and arrested by the RCMP after attempting to flee from officers.

As a result, Tethloach WAWU, 24, is charged with one count of second-degree murder.

WAWU will next appear in court on Monday, April 27, 2026.

This is believed to be a domestic-related incident and there is no threat to public safety.
