Timmins police responded to a report of a suspicious death at a residence near Algonquin Boulevard West and Preston Street on March 18th, 2025.

On arrival police located a deceased woman who had been identified as 57-year-old Paula Mallette. The Criminal Investigations Division (CID) took over the case, executing search warrants at several locations and collecting key evidence, including surveillance footage. A post-mortem examination confirmed the death as a homicide caused by blunt force trauma with a weapon.

Timmins Police issued a Canada-wide warrant for Dale Head’s arrest on charges of First Degree Murder. Following numerous public tips, officers located Head on March 24, 2025, in the Riverpark Road and Airport Road area, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators confirmed that HEAD and the victim were acquaintances and that this incident was not drug-motivated.
