Cape Breton Woman Charged with Second-Degree Murder After Man Found Dead in River Ryan NS Home

Emergency Health Services were called to a residence on Ryan Street. shortly after 1 a.m, on April 7th, 47-year-old Jason Allen Corbett was pronounced dead.

Following an investigation led by the major crime unit, working alongside forensic identification officers and the Medical Examiner’s Office, Kerry Ann Moules, 45, from Sydney, has been charged with second-degree murder. She is currently being held at the Cape Breton Correctional Centre.

Police indicated that the accused and the victim knew each other and emphasized that there is no ongoing threat to the public. Authorities believe the incident stemmed from a dispute between the two individuals. Court and media reports explicitly identify Jason Allen Corbett as Kerry Ann Moules’ partner.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending the completion of an autopsy and notification of next of kin.
