Brantford Police Service responded to a Hampton Street residence after receiving a 911 call regarding concerns for the well-being of a female resident of the home on Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 12:00 p.m.

Officers located a 40-year-old female deceased within the residence. A 41-year-old male resident of the home was also located by police within the residence. The male was in medical distress and transported to hospital for treatment.

As a result of the investigation, the 41-year-old male resident of Brantford has been arrested, held for bail, and charged with 1st degree murder.

At this time, the Brantford Police Service would like to advise the public that the victim and the accused were known to each other. Police will not be releasing the names of the deceased and accused.
