Parkland RCMP said 33 year-old Saundra Bearhead was discovered by police suffering from a serious stabbing injury on May 2nd. Bearhead was rushed to an Edmonton hospital but succumbed to her injuries on May 7, 2023.

As a result of the investigation police arrested 28-year-old Blake Bird, and charged him with charged with one count of Second Degree Murder.
