Alyssa Michelle Ross charged with manslaughter in the death of 2-month-old King Campbell-Ross in Winnipeg

Winnipeg Police Service, along with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service, attended a residence in the 600 block of Atlantic Avenue regarding an unresponsive infant on December 4th, 2023.

The two-month-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Winnipeg Police Service’s Child Abuse Unit began an investigation regarding the sudden death of 2-month-old King Campbell-Ross.

An autopsy was performed and the medical examiner determined that Campbell-Ross’ death was a result of malnutrition.

The Child Abuse Unit consulted with the Manitoba Prosecution Service, which authorized the charge of Manslaughter against the infant’s parent.

On February 8th, Police arrested Alyssa Michelle Ross, 27, of Winnipeg and charged her with Manslaughter. She has been detained in custody.
