According to CTV News. South Simcoe Police say they were called to a home on Algonquin Avenue on November 8th, 2024, for a medical emergency involving an infant. When officers arrived, they found a four-month-old baby without vital signs.

The child was rushed first to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie, and then transferred to The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. The baby died two days later, on November 10th, as a result of injuries sustained on November 8th.

Following a lengthy investigation, police say they recently gathered enough evidence to lay charges. This week, multiple warrants were executed at a home in Barrie, and two people were arrested.

Thirty-one-year-old Anthony Fasullo of Barrie has been charged with manslaughter. He was released from custody after a bail hearing, with a surety posting $6,000. He is also subject to conditions including a curfew, a weapons ban, and restrictions preventing him from being alone with or caring for a child.

A 26-year-old woman from Barrie has also been charged in connection with the case. She faces one count of failure to provide the necessities of life.

Police say the investigation involved multiple units and continued over an extended period before charges were laid. The allegations have not been proven in court.
