Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a homicide after an 18-year-old man was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Midland on July 31st.

Police responded to reports of gunfire at the apartment complex on King Street shortly after 8 p.m. Officers arrived to find Tryce James, 18, of Etobicoke, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Investigators have identified the case as a homicide and believe the shooting was an isolated incident. OPP say there is no ongoing threat to public safety, but residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area as officers continue their investigation.
