Mississauga, Ontario 2026 Homicide Victim List

Peel Regional Police were called to the area of Dixie Road and Dundas Street East in the evening of January 30th on the report of a random and unprovoked attack.

Officers were first called to a plaza in the area, where they found a woman in her mid-50s with critical injuries. She had been waiting in a tent outside a store, in an effort to secure a spot at the front of the line for the next day.

The woman was rushed to the hospital but later died from her injuries. According to CP24, surveillance footage shows the suspect briefly speaking with her before leaving and then returning moments later to attack her with a metal object.

Police tracked down and arrested the suspect following a short foot chase. He was identified as Kent McKerron, of no fixed address. McKerron has been charged with second-degree murder.

Investigators later learned that about 30 minutes before the fatal assault, a 61-year-old man was attacked at a nearby bus stop. The same suspect is accused of striking the man once with a metal rod before fleeing. That victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
