New Brunswick 2026 Homicide Victim List
The New Brunswick RCMP is investigating the deaths of two men in the community of Knowlesville, N.B.
Police were called to a residence on Knowlesville Road shortly before 10 p.m. on August 12, 2026, following a report of two sudden deaths.
When officers arrived, they found two men, aged 68 and 74, deceased inside the home. Both men were residents of the Knowlesville community and were known to one another.
The RCMP’s Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and is treating the deaths as suspicious. Police say there is currently no indication of a threat to public safety.
The New Brunswick coroner’s office is assisting investigators, with autopsies planned to determine the exact causes of death.
Update August 19th: Police have determined that the deaths were the result of a murder-suicide. A firearm was recovered at the scene. Police said no criminal charges would be laid given the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
