On the morning of Monday, July 21, 2025, around 10:30 a.m., Edmonton police responded to a reported assault at a home near 93 Street and 116 Avenue.

Upon arrival, they found a 68-year-old man with serious injuries. Emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene and transported him to the hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.

Tragically, despite efforts by paramedics and police, the man died from his injuries at the hospital.

The Edmonton Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy on Tuesday, July 22, 2025. However, the exact cause and manner of death have not yet been confirmed and require further analysis.

Police arrested a 48-year-old man at the scene. He has since been released. Investigators have confirmed that the two men knew each other.

The case remains under investigation by the Homicide Section.
